Bakhshi- This marking period, Bakhshi focused on an animated gif that was a part of her relaxed skeleton series. She made the animation in blender and then gave everything a 2D look. I saw the piece in blender while she was working on it, but the finished piece looks nothing like the This might be an interesting route to explore considering the fact that I want to work with 2D animation but have more experience with 3D animation. Bakhshi has also taken an interesting path with her series of a "relaxed skeleton". The theme is paradoxical in that something morbid is being show in a calming way. It presents a humorous image and is certainly a great technique to utilize when wanting to invoke humor.
Vivian - Vivian worked on the models and movement cycles for her animation this marking period, and I think they turned out really well. The models she made are primarily of animals and include a cat, a dog, a horse, and a bird. Also, her main character has been made exceptionally well, especially when considering the challenges of animating humans and the fact that she is using dress physics. In all honesty, clothing physics is like one of those daunting, unimaginable things that I know I will have to do, but really don't want to. So it's great that Vivian has taken a leap and decided to work with that. Additionally, Vivian stated that she used bezier curves for the hair, which really interest me. I've been having some trouble with human hair as I've never really had the time to model it when working with my human models due to time constraints. Hopefully, I can change that, because it looks really good.
Blaze - Blaze usually stays on the fantasy end of things, but I think he went out and experimented a bit last marking period. However, this marking period, he went back to his routes, as he is more comfortable there. I think he went through the same period of trying something and concluding that it was not right as I did, and I think that a lot of artists go through that as they are trying to find their own unique art style. In other news, Blaze made this really cool-looking model of a dragon claw holding an eyeball, and it turned out really well. Clearly, he spent some time on it and liked how it turned out, which is great. The other pieces he made include coins that he is going to print (presumably for his shop of DAF), and they've turned out really well. I think they look great, and it especially speaks to the level of detail he puts into his art that they have different engravings on either side.
Keaton - I think Keaton is one of those people who never have trouble with producing a large amount of things, because he always has a multitude of pieces at the end of the year. This marking period, he focused on making things that he's going to need for his final western murder mystery animation, and I think it's going well. I really loved the dinosaur he made, because it looks really cool and oddly organic, but maybe that's just me. Additionally, he did stuff in vector graphics, and it looks great. Vector graphics is a way to create images that are defined in terms of 2D points and then are connected using lines and curves, which is not that surprising considering that Keaton is a physics nerd. Either way, the pieces turned out great and Vector graphics might be something to look into during the summer.
Caden (Forkner) - I think Caden has discovered his style at this point, he likes to 3D print and make things with moving parts. It's a cool area to be and I'm glad that he's found his niche. Primarily, he's been working on his 3D chess set, and things seem to be moving along swimmingly. The entire thing has the potential to be really cool and he's executing it well. Additionally, he also worked a lot with Mr. Kofmehl and the engineering programs' software this MP as he found that there stuff is better for intricate moving parts. I think it's cool that he's expanding and experimenting with other softwares as it gives him more experience and let's him try new things.
