My friends had to make a video for anatomy and asked me to film and edit it, I was a bit skeptical at first because I did not have much experience with either of those things, however, the end result pleasantly surprised me. I filmed the movie on both of their iPhones, so the resolutions got messed up a little, plus I don't have the steadiest of hands, so the video might be a bit shaky at times. Additionally, as much as I hate to admit it, iPhones are surprisingly versatile in terms of filming (android is still superior). I learned a lot about adobe premier that I hadn't before. For the first time, I did much more than simply create a title, credits, a couple of black screens, and put cross dissolves between them all. I experimented with additional transitional techniques and really focused on making them fit each successive scene. What I found to be somewhat challenging was the text--I'm sure there is an easier way to do it, but I had to create individual things for each sentence and set it over the video, which was time-consuming to say in the least. Furthermore, the song was based on "7 rings" by Ariana Grande. As a result, I had to make the video in the image of the music video for 7 rings--the entire video is tinted pink, the title is similar to the title of the music video, and the transition right before the title is also as it is in the music video. I also gained some insight into the difficulty of producing music videos as it was difficult to keep everything in time even though we had the music playing in the background the entire time. I really liked the slow-motion clips I was able to include and it would be interesting to see what that would look like in 3D, especially as it wouldn't be difficult at all to execute. Either way, I've found that I truly enjoy editing and I look forward to doing it more in the future. On another note, I think I've become the "tech person" to some of my friends, which is an interesting and flattering position to occupy.
p.s. As the video is private, it may not be viewable. If so, my apologies.
p.p.s. I'm writing this as I watch the Oscars, hope you're proud Mr. B.
