Phoenix |
Hippocampus |
Wolf |
As for how I’m making and presenting the creatures, of
course, I’m modeling them. If I decide to go with stills, I’ll render them in
cycles, otherwise I’ll steer clear of it. I want to incorporate particle
systems into each piece to emphasize their mysterious and mystic origins. I
might include ember like particles with the phoenix, blue particles with the
hippocampus, and shadow-like tendrils with the wolf (I might opt for a more
Norse-mythology themed interpretation, where wolves can represent evil). Of
course, I’m going to do further research on each of the mythologies that I am
drawing from for this project to be as accurate and respectful as possible. So
far, I’ve started modeling a phoenix, and it is going fairly well:
This past week:
Monday 10/1: Rigged and made flying action for the curve
modeled phoenix (it turned out okay, but it was a bit flat)
Tuesday 10/2: Continued on the curve model, made a 10 second
animation, discarded the idea
Wednesday 10/3: Looked at reference pics for the phoenix,
started modeling
Thursday 10/4: Continued modeling phoenix
Friday 10/5: No School
Next Week: Continue modeling phoenix, fully form the
mythical creatures idea, and start modeling the other creatures.
